About Karate
Karate is an empty-handed method of self-defense that originated in China and dates back hundreds of years. Today, karate teaches mental as well as physical discipline. At our school, we provide instruction in Uechi Ryu Karate Do, a traditional Okinawan style of karate.
Children's Martial Arts
At Luth's Family Karate, we believe your children should get more out of their martial arts training than just learning how to punch and kick. We incorporate our S.T.A.R. program to reinforce the same values that you teach your children at home.
At our school your child will study the martial arts in a warm, supportive atmosphere while building a stronger body, stronger values, and having fun!
We offer classes that fit into your hectic schedule, and a curriculum that will help your child be more successful at home, at school, and in life.
About S.T.A.R. in the Martial Arts
Our innovative children's karate curriculum features the S.T.A.R. in the Martial Arts character education program. Developed here at our school in conjunction with the Jefferson Center, S.T.A.R. provides a framework to teach and reinforce the values of respect and responsibility.
S.T.A.R means 'Stop, Think, Act, Review' or 'Success Through Accepting Responsibility'. This engaging, dynamic program encourages our students to be responsible for their actions. They learn not only the martial arts, but how to make the right decisions in life.
